Summer thermal insulation The cutting attachment explains the essential factors that influence the overheating of buildings in summer. It shows that it is not the volume of heat-retaining material which is decisive. Rather, with all types of construction – be it wood, brick or reinforced concrete – attention should be paid in future to air circulation and shading to ensure effective cooling.

Emissions

Depending on their contents (coniferous wood, formaldehyde-free PU glue), KLH panels are generally to be classified in emission class E1 as per EN 16351.

Some certificates and certifications require even lower limit values for higher classes, which is why KLH panels have also been tested at the Fraunhofer IBP in accordance with the EN 16516 test chamber method.

Based on this, KLH panels are also classified in the best class, A+, in the French FDES.

Since the term VOC is very broad and therefore also includes natural volatile wood compounds, this term should be considered a little more closely. For greater clarity, Informationsdienst Holz has created a corresponding brochure.
