Residential District
UEA Blackdale
The advantages provided by CLT made this material the logical choice for the superstructure of the new buildings. Furthermore, the cellular arrangement of the residential units contributed to a very efficient structural arrangement.
The project was completed in just 17 weeks by four KLHUK teams and on-site cranes that were in action at the same time – another groundbreaking achievement for the KLHUK operations team. The superstructure of cross laminated timber was transported in 95 truckloads to the construction site. The total amount of carbon stored / bound in the KLH wood panels is 935,3 tons.
